UPSC RecruitmentThe Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification of Engineering Services Exam 2020 and candidates can apply online before October 15, 2019. Every applicant who is going to appear for the exam must have knowledge about UPSC ESE Pattern and Syllabus. Important Points:

  • There will be negative marking of 0.33 marks for each wrong answer marked by a candidate in the objective type question papers.
  • If a question is left blank i.e. no answer is given by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
  • Deduction up to five per cent of the maximum marks for the written papers will be made for illegible handwriting.
  • Candidates are permitted to bring and use battery-operated pocket calculators for conventional (essay) type papers only.
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities in the category of Low Vision will be allowed Compensatory Time of twenty minutes per hour of the examination.

Stage-III: (Personality Test)

In the Personality Test special attention will be paid to assessing the candidate’s capacity for leadership, initiative and intellectual curiosity, tact and other social qualities, mental and physical energy, powers of practical application and integrity of character.
