UPSC CDS Recruitment 2019 – Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released an official notification inviting all the interested, eligible candidates for 417 Officers posts. The application process for UPSC Combined Defence Services Exam is open and the last date to apply is July 08, 2019 (06:00 PM). The UPSC CDS exam is conducted twice in a year. UPSC CDS Exam 2019 (II) is held for recruiting candidates for course conducted by IMA, INA, AFA and OTA.

Being India’s premier central recruiting agency, the Union Public Service Commission conducts examinations for All India Services and Group A and Group B of Central Services. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Combined Defence Services (CDS 2) Examination (II), 2019 on 8th September 2019 for admission to Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy for the Courses commencing in July and October 2020. Eligibility Criteria for UPSC CDS II Exam

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Combined Defence Services Examination (2), 2019. Candidates who wish to appear for UPSC CDS Exam must be unmarried and must be either:-

  • a Citizen of India, or
  • a subject of Bhutan, or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of
    permanently settling in India, or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African
    Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania,Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and
    Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

For Indian Military AcademyUnmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July 1996 and not later than 1st July 2001 only are eligible.
For Indian Naval AcademyUnmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July 1996 and not later than 1st July 2001 only are eligible.
For Air Force Academy20 to 24 years as on 1st July 2020 i.e. born not earlier than 2nd July 1996 and not later than 1st July 2000 only are eligible.
For Officers’ Training Academy(SSC Course for men) Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July 1995 and not later than 1st July 2001 only are eligible.
For Officers’ Training Academy(SSC Women Non-Technical Course) Unmarried women, issue less widows who have not remarried and issue less divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been born not earlier than 2nd July 1995 and not later than 1st July 2001.
Essential Qualification Requirement (EQR)
For IMA and Officers’ Training AcademyCandidates must have obtained Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.
For Indian Naval AcademyCandidates must have obtained Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
For Air Force AcademyCandidates must have obtained Degree of a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

UPSC CDS II Exam Pattern

The candidates will be provided admission to the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air force Academy (AFA), Indian Military Academy (IMA) and Officer’s Training Academy (OTA) through Written Examination, Personality Test and Interview.

UPSC CDS II Exam Syllabus

The Union Public Service Commission has prescribed the syllabus for CDS exam in the official notification. The written exam comprises of questions from English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics topics. The SSB stage comprises of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception Description Tests (PP&DT). UPSC CDS II Admit Card 2019

  • Candidates need a registration ID or roll number and date of birth for downloading the hall ticket.
  • Candidates will have to carry the e-admit card along with one original Photo Identity Proof on the exam day.
  • It is to be remembered that no e-admit card will be sent by post.
  • Carrying the hall ticket at the examination centre is necessary.

UPSC CDS II Result 2019

The Union Public Service Commission shall prepare a list of candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as fixed by the Commission. A final merit/cut-off list is prepared on the basis of the candidate’s score in all the stages of the exam including medical fitness. Candidates who qualify written exam will be called for intelligence and personality test at the Service
Selection Board. To be acceptable, candidates should secure the minimum qualifying marks separately in (i) written examination and (ii) SSB test as fixed by the Commission and Service Selection Board.
