SSC JE Exam Pattern – SSC Recruitment

ssc recruitmentSSC has released the notification for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Quantity Surveying & Contracts) for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India and candidates can apply online before September 12, 2019. Every applicant who is going to appear for the exam must have knowledge about Exam Pattern and Syllabus. Check SSC JE Exam Pattern 2019 with latest exam syllabus on this page. There will be 03 stages of exam i.e. Paper-I, Paper-II and Document Verification.

  • Number of Examination Phases: Two i.e: Paper-I (Computer Based Examination), Paper-II (Descriptive Type) and Document Verification
  • Examination Mode: Paper-I (Online) and Paper-II (Offline)
  • Types of Questions: Paper-I (Objective) and Paper-II (Descriptive Type)
  • Medium: English and Hindi
  • Negative Marking:  -0.25 for each wrong answer

Paper-I (Computer Based Examination)

The Paper-I will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi. The adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by SSC depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Paper-II.

Paper-II (Descriptive Type)

Important Points:

  • For every wrong answer there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks in Paper-I.
  • In Paper-I and Paper-II for General Engineering, the candidate will be required to attempt only the part as per option given in the application form filled by the candidate.
  • In other words, the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying & Contracts) should attempt Part A (Civil & Structural) of Paper-I and Paper-II and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) should attempt Part-B (Electrical) and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Mechanical) should attempt Part C (Mechanical) of Paper-I and Paper-II failing which his/ her answer sheet (Paper II) will not be evaluated.
  • Based on the performance in Paper-I+Paper-II, candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification.

Document Verification

Candidates who will qualify Paper-II will be shortlisted for Document Verification. Shortlisted candidates must bring original documents along with a copy of all the important documents and certificates like Matriculation Certificate, caste certificate, experience certificate, educational qualification and other relevant documents at the verification centre. Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in Paper I & paper II and preferences for department/posts exercised by the candidates at the time of verification of documents.
